Voice Privacy Policy
Amax, Inc., doing business as GoodsIQ (“GoodsIQ”) develops and/or offers for sale smart devices (each a “Smart Device”) which are voice enabled and can access Amazon’s Alexa enabled products and applications, including, without limitation, Amazon’s Echo devices and the Alexa app (each an “Alexa Enabled Product”). GoodsIQ has access to and may collect certain information about you and your Smart Device while your Smart Device is connected to any Alexa Enabled Product. Please read the privacy statement below to understand what is collected by GoodsIQ and with whom it is shared.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Usage Information. GoodsIQ may collect information about the Smart Device’s performance and your use of the device (“Usage Information”). Usage Information collected by GoodsIQ is anonymized and/or aggregated to create data that does not personally identify you or any other user (for example, Usage Information may be aggregated to calculate the percentage of users who use the Smart Device within a certain state).
PURPOSE FOR WHICH WE COLLECT AND USE PERSONAL AND USAGE INFORMATION:
GoodsIQ uses the Usage Information it collects through the Smart Device to:
- Conduct analytics to improve and enhance our products and services;
- Enhance product performance and provide maintenance notifications;
- Enable us to comply with applicable law or regulatory requirements;
- Conform with the requirements of the law, including national security or law enforcement requirements, or to comply with legal process served on us;
- Protect our legal rights or property or other customers; and
- For any other purpose for which we obtain your permission.
HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
GoodsIQ: Except as otherwise provided herein, GoodsIQ will not share, sell or trade any Usage Information with third parties without your consent. GoodsIQ may share anonymized, aggregated Usage Information with business partners and corporate customers for sales and marketing purposes.
Service Providers: Other companies and individuals employed by GoodsIQ to perform functions on our behalf may have access to Usage Information needed to perform their functions but may not use such information for any other purpose. We may also share Usage Information with our attorneys, accountants or other agents if it is reasonably necessary for them to perform services for us.
Future Business Transactions: As our business is constantly changing, we may transfer your Usage Information as part of a merger, sale of assets, acquisition, etc. Also, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, all such information may be considered an asset of ours and may be sold or transferred to third parties to the extent permitted by applicable law. We may also share Usage Information with our family of affiliated companies (which may include subsidiaries, corporate parents, or any other subsidiaries owned by a corporate parent) for the purposes described herein.
Legal Authorities: We may disclose your Usage Information if we are required to do so by law, or if we believe that such action is necessary to: (1) fulfill a government request; (2) conform with the requirements of the law or legal process; (3) protect or defend our legal rights or property, including the Site; or (4) in an emergency to protect the health and safety of our users or the general public.
THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS
GoodsIQ’s Smart Devices are designed to access Amazon’s Alexa Enabled Products. Please refer to Amazon’s Alexa Internet Privacy Notice for more information regarding what types of information Amazon collects and how Amazon uses collected information.
SECURITY
We want you to feel confident about using our Smart Device. We are committed to protecting the Usage Information we collect, and we use commercially reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to assist us in preventing unauthorized access, use and/or disclosure of your Usage Information.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
GoodsIQ may from time to time make changes to this Privacy Statement to reflect changes in legal or regulatory obligations or changes in the manner in which we deal with Usage Information. We will post any revised version of this Statement here. Any changes will be effective on the date stated in the revised Statement. If we significantly change how we handle your Usage Information, we will notify you and/or obtain your consent as required by law.
